Treasurer:
Carl Alexander

Carl Alexander is a founding member of the Kentuckiana Chapter of ISSA (2002) and has served as Treasurer for 4 years. A Treasurer replacement is needed for 2009.

Work: Carl has 24 plus years in the IT Industry and has worked for 23 years at UPS where he currently serves as an Information Security Services manager. Carl’s present focus is on developing a corporate vulnerability “remediation effort” management system. Alerts from various security systems would be channeled into one security based system so the remediation effort can be prioritized, assigned, monitored and policy enforced via a central repository. Knowing your company’s level of risk is of great value, but being truly empowered to manage those levels, priceless.

Personal: Carl holds a degree in Computer Engineering and has maintained a GIAC Gold GSEC certification since 2002. Carl has been married for 21 years to Mary Ann, who is the Directory of Children’s Ministries for Grace Community Baptist Church. They have a dog named Daisy and live in Meadow Peak near Bernheim Forest where they enjoy a peaceful country type lifestyle. Carl’s hobbies include wood working, gardening, and multiple collections such as KY Derby items, AV technologies, etc.

Success: Carl enjoys spending time with friends in IT to learn and share ideas over lunch. Consider this an “open Lunch invitation”. Success in life is not what we gain for ourselves; but what we share with others, this marks ones true success.

Encouragement: Carl appreciates the hard work of our ISSA chapter members and looks forward to contributing to a great year of networking, learning, and growing as ISSA continues to improve security awareness in the Kentuckiana region.
